The U.S. independent physician market represents over $500 billion in annual revenue across more than 200,000 independent practices — the vast majority of which operate without professional management infrastructure. These practices handle their own billing, compliance, staffing, technology, and real estate with limited expertise and no economies of scale, creating a massive efficiency gap that reduces physician income and threatens practice sustainability.

Consolidation is accelerating. The percentage of physicians in independent practice has declined from over 60% in 2012 to under 47% today — not because physicians want to be employed, but because independent practice has become operationally unsustainable without the right support.
